The Story Behind Sesame But Different

Hi! I'm Chia, the creator of Sesame But Different (SBD), a lesbian slice-of-life comic that I started on Webtoons.

I created Sesame But Different to poke fun at moments (sometimes embarrassing but, hopefully, mostly relatable) in my life with my girlfriend, but primarily to provide more LGBTQ visibility by playfully showcasing a real same-sex relationship.  Back when I was young and closeted, I used to search all over the internet (unintentionally losing bits of my innocence along the way) for content that could reassure me that there were others like me and that I could be happy one day.

Thankfully, I can attest that it truly does get better and nothing would make me happier than to generate artwork that can fill that void for someone else.  I'm hoping to be able to publish episodes more frequently (than my current once a week) and to eventually commit on a full-time basis.
