Who uses the shower first in the morning?
Most of the time, we shower together. 😊 Here's a comic about us showering together. 🚿
What is your favorite color?
We love the colors of Fall and typically both wear and prefer more neutral colors (beige, gray, white, black, maroon, etc.).
What is your favorite day of the year?
We love the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, because it’s that time of year where we can stuff ourselves with delicious food, eat pumpkin spice things, spend time with family, and snuggle with each other to get warm and cozy.
What do you guys think you would look like in male form?
Stay tuned for a comic on this one...
Do you like potatoes?
Yes, who doesn’t?! Potatoes are so versatile – you can bake them, fry them, mash them, and turn them into tater tots! We also love sweet potatoes, which are actually very nutritious.
If you could have lunch with one person alive or dead, who would it be?
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, because she was a pioneer for women in so many ways!
Where are you from? What is your ethnicity?
We’re both ABCs – American Born Chinese.
Who is Domino's pizza and who's subway sandwich?
… I think we both might be too old to know what this is referring to 😅
What is your 16 personality type?
Poppy is an INFJ and Chia is an INTJ. Basically, we're both pretty introverted and fit the typical stereotype of being homebody lesbians...
Who is top and who is bottom?
We take turns. 😉
Any tattoos?
Poppy has a tattoo that she got when she was in college, but Chia, on the other hand, is a blank canvas!
Dog or cat person?
We don't have any pets but we both love dogs and whenever Poppy comes across a cute puppy on the street, she'll let out a squeal even if you're in the middle of a deep conversation with her. 😂
Both our personalities are more like cats though, but sadly, we’re both allergic to them.
Favorite color of lipstick?
Neither of us really wear lipstick on a day to day basis but when we do for special occasions, we prefer a lighter, more natural pink color tone.
If you had a chance to get a superpower what would it be?
Chia: Super speed, because it’s like having three powers in one! If you can move super fast, you can (1) make everything around you slow down, thereby controlling time in a way, (2) fly, by running at a high speed and leaping, and (3) just be really fast!
Poppy: the superpower to learn anything and absorb knowledge at the speed of light.
Why is your comic called "Sesame But Different"?
We made a comic post answering that question here. :)
Are Chia and Poppy your real names and what do you think about each other's name?
Chia and Poppy are our comic names so while they're not quite our "actual" names in real life, we love them--even though when we put them together, they don’t make the best sounding ship name… “Chippy”? Maybe our readers can come up with a better one...

How do you make your own comic when you can't draw?
Practice makes perfect! There are many YouTube videos and tutorials that you can watch for free and just keep practicing. Many comic artists nowadays are also adopting more simple styles that are unique and appealing but not necessarily super technical or difficult to draw.
At the end of the day, simply getting started and improving as you go along is the most important part. Having good content also matters a lot.
Chia has shared some of her comic artist tips and tricks here. You can also follow these 8 steps to start your own webcomic.
If you’re curious, you can see how our comic has evolved tremendously and gotten better over time as well. You can compare our very first comic here to our comics now. :)
